Q & A on HAIR EXTENSIONS

What type of extensions do you do?

The reason I specialize in and only install Invisible Beaded row extensions is because the foundation used helps support a generous amount of hair even on the finest and thinnest of hair types. Hand-tied wefts are applied to the beaded foundation and sewn in. They’re virtually invisible and hair can be flipped immediately without detection!

How much hair will I need?

Depending on result you are looking for, you may need 1-3 rows of extensions. Each row will have 2-5 wefts on it. There is no glue used for hand tied and can be custom colored immediately after install for a seamless color match.  To determine how many rows you will need, use the chart below.

How to determine how many hair extension rows I need

How much do hair extensions cost?

One size does not fit all. Prices vary depending on how much length and volume is needed to match your density. We will review this at your 15-minute consultation, but to give you some idea, extensions start over $600 and go up. For each row, you will need a minimum of 3 wefts, up to 5. Wefts vary in price by length. I charge an install fee of $200/row. So we look at the length of the hair you want, and determine the number of rows you need to come up with a general cost.

Cost Calculation

To determine how many rows you need, use the flow chart above. Then you can multiply the per-row cost by your answer. Keep in mind that you may need up to 5 wefts, so that price can go up. All of this will be discussed at your consultation.

Do you offer financing options?

How much are move-ups?

  • $150 for one row  • $250 for two rows •. $350 for three rows

How soon will I need to have them moved up?

Approximately 8 weeks, some clients go 10, and everyone’s hair grows at a different pace.

How long do your hand-tied extensions last?

The hair will last 8-12 months depending on how you care for it.

Do I have to replace hair every move up?

No, when you purchase the hair you are able to use the same hair for 6-12 months depending on how you care for your hair.

Will people be able to see my extensions?

No! Hand-tied hair extensions are seamless and placed so that if you have cowlicks or whirls your hair will not split and expose your extra hair.

How do I take care of my extensions?

  • Clarify once a week

  • Deep condition once a week

  • Limit heat styling

  • Use heat protectant

  • Brush and oil your ends daily

  • Air dry 80% when possible

  • Braid or low pony at night to reduce tangles

  • Do not go to bed with your hair wet

  • Use sunscreen that does not contain avobenzine. If you have blonde extensions sunscreen with this ingredient will discolor them.

Can I wear my hair up?

It all depends on how thin your hair is, some have no problem while others have thin sides that when put in a high pony or bun will expose the extensions. The type of extensions that I do are invisible, but your individual hair will determine this.

Who is a good candidate for extensions?

Pretty much everyone except anyone experiencing active hair loss. Not everyone can grow the length that they desire. Our genetics play a big part in how long our hair will grow before it falls out. The longer your growth cycle the longer your hair and everyone’s growth cycle is different. Whether you want more volume or more length, I can help!

Why are hand-tied hair extensions more expensive than tape-in or other kinds of extensions?

Hand-tied hair extensions are not cheap. But getting a brand-new new head of long, healthy, voluminous hair in one day is pretty miraculous, so from another perspective, they’re an amazingly good deal!

That said, hand-tied hair extensions are a highly-skilled and tedious process to install as they are hand-sewn. They require special training and tons of practice to perfect. They are also safer than other types of hair extensions. They don’t damage the hair, and are even safe for those with hair loss! You can add more hair than other methods, completely safely. They are definitely the highest-quality form of extensions on the market.
